Make Your Wedding Reception Unforgettable

Make Your Wedding Reception Unforgettable

Everybody wants to make the start to their happily ever after an unforgettable event that is unlike any other. With the new year just getting started, why not ensure your wedding reception is the most memorable of them all? Here are some of our tips for making this year the year for you!

The Photo Booth

If you want to entertain your guests while you’re having the official photos taken, or want to add some fun to your reception, think about getting a photo booth installed. Your friends and guests can take the most hilarious photos to pass the time and you get wonderful memories to add to your wedding album.

Make sure you have plenty of props like hats, glasses, wigs and scarves to hand, since they are excellent for creating funny photos. We can help you choose props that fit around a colour scheme or match the theme of your wedding.

Think about other “photo-worthy” spaces when you’re choosing venues or setting up your reception space. Cosy nooks with benches can be inviting, or more unusual “photo points” like signs, posters or quirky seats.

Fun and Games

Make Your Wedding Reception UnforgettableWhether you have little guests to cater for, or your grown-up guests love some fun for themselves… giant outsize games are an excellent fun choice and a great photo opportunity.

If your wedding is outside, lawn games like croquet, quoits or mini basketball are great, too. You could even rent a bouncy castle or a minigolf. Think of the games you’ll find during a village fete and you can’t go wrong.

During the evening, sparklers and glow sticks add to the fun, especially as things that light up – and can be photographed – are really fun after a champagne or three.

The Drinks

Nothing gets the party going like a welcome glass of champagne, a before-dinner beer or a signature cocktail provided by a free bar. Obviously your generosity will have limits (of the bar tab variety) but ensure all your day guests never have a dry glass and the dance floor is full all night long. If you’re able to provide your own drinks, stock up on affordable wine so that your guests can have a glass with every course, and think about making up signature wedding cocktails that can be served from glass dispensers after dinner and before the dancing starts.

The Snacks

Drinks are all very well, but when you’re planning your wedding don’t forget the snacks. In between the more formal catering set up tables with little nibbles. Crisps and nuts are eternally popular as are salted pretzels, crackers and cheese straws. Mini cakes and pastries will go down well at any time and for treats, why not look into hiring an ice cream van or or candyfloss bar?
